The Business Development department at the DTCM is committed to assisting in the development of the ‘Dubai product’ in order to provide the best possible service to visitors.
Key activities of the department include:
Liaising between the DTCM and the tourism community by setting up industry Professional Groups (travel & tourism and hotel & hotel apartment groups) and holding regular meetings thereof
Liaising between the Dubai tourism constituency and other government departments to address the industry’s concerns and improve service provision. Also assisting the government departments in their communication with the tourism community
Handling and analyzing complaints about the DTCM and about other Dubai entities, with regards to facilities and services provided
Developing DTCM rules and regulations to ensure the proper organization and development of Dubai’s tourist industry
Conducting surveys to understand Dubai and DTCM customer needs and expectations, and sharing the findings with the relevant industry and government bodies
Making recommendations to ensure that the emirate’s competitive edge as a leading commercial centre and tourist destination is maintained
Raising the tourism industry’s awareness of environmental issues and needs
Improving Dubai’s accessibility to the disabled and elderly tourists, develop sustainable tourism and also undertake research to enhance knowledge of tourism sector and visitors
Developing new non-promotional projects for other DTCM departments and handing over authority once the projects are developed and tested.
