The Corporate Support team is responsible for the Human Resource department, Training and Development and Training Solutions.
Human Resources
HR Department believes that people are the essence of and the real assets for our work: Through effective people management, we aim to enable them to realize DTCM mission and utilize their full potential to make its vision come true. At the DTCM, Human Resources remains crucial to the growth and expansion of the organization and the welfare and development of its staff, drawn from various nationalities and holding varied skills and expertise.
Human Resources department is committed to providing services that ensure a fair, equitable and quality working and learning environment for the employees, in addition to exploring the various ways in order to compete and excel in areas of its operation. Therefore HR is successfully continuing its unfaltering endeavors for human resource development, aimed at enhancing their professional skills, work efficiency levels and keeping up their high morale with a recent survey placing the employees’ satisfaction levels far ahead of normal standards, and is providing a unique opportunity for the students of different levels to interact with the market and finish the requirements of their studies by enabling them to have their practical training within the DTCM various departments.
The HR strives sincerely to motivate and develop the employees via launching various programs tackling their creativity and rewarding them for their extra ordinary achievements amongst them are:
1) ADDAT Program aiming to spread and create a lifestyle matching with the DTCM Values and essence believes of work.
2) HAWAFEZ Program aiming to motivate and appreciate the extraordinary achievements and efforts by the employees.
3) SMART suggestion, and electronic system encouraging the DTCM employees as well as our external customers to submit their suggestions and new ideas that participate in the development and improvement of the standards of services provided.
4) EMTIAZ program enabling the employees to enjoy the benefit of further discounts and special offers from selected services providers in the different sectors.
5) The HR through the Employee Relation Section organizes and participates in many entertaining, social, sport and cultural activities and events which add to the creation of innovative work environment.
And to fostering communication, the HR is taking the responsibility of keeping the employees aware of the DTCM achievements and news of concern via the various communication channels.
Training Solutions, Learning and Development
Training Solutions was established in January 2001 as a centre of excellence. It provides specific training solutions for the tourism sector to ensure that Dubai’s tourism industry continues its world-class development with world-class people involved at all levels.
The courses are open to all individuals interested in enhancing their skills and tourism industry knowledge. They are of particular relevance to employees of tour operators and destination management companies, part-time exhibition and conference staff, and other personnel dealing with visitors.
Training Solutions is responsible for training industry groups such as: Tour Guide Advisory Committee and Dubai Concierge Group as well as conduct in house training. Training Solutions is also the main driver behind the ‘Concierge of the Year’ Competition, ‘Receptionist of the Year’ Competition, External Training, Dubai Information Courses and Tour Guide Training.
This includes training of persons in the hotel industry in Dubai and Emiratisation of the hotel industry. The core objective is to implement a training strategy that takes on board the growth and expansion of the DTCM’s external hotel and tourism training initiative. The visionary future plans of Dubai as a destination and the development of the industry on a major scale means that the pressure is now ever greater to support the tourism industry with a skilled, professional workforce. A true world-class destination needs world-class people and the DTCM is one of the few international departments of tourism to take a lead in this area in terms of training provision. For instance, all tour guides in Dubai are required by law to get a licence from the DTCM for which they undergo the Dubai Tour Guide Training Programme
Another important task of DTCM is the training of its staff members and those working in the tourism industry in the emirate of Dubai. Training Solutions organizes training for its employees to hone their skills in different areas of operation and administration. Senior management also undertakes training overseas, thereby bringing expertise and knowledge to the junior staff members. There is an open policy where in the employees can opt for the courses being offered or he/she wishes to pursue.
